Write the vision!

Hey lovelies,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!

happy-new-year-2017-wallpaper-hd

I hope that your holidays were lit and so many good things happened. Anybody that knows me well knows I absolutely lovee the holiday season, especially Christmas. So you trust that it was awesome. I’m sorry that I was away for what seemed like forever to me, I needed stronger motivation and more inspiration. Guess what? We got this! LOL

Fast forward to what I’m sharing with you today… Few days ago, I had a conversation with my friend and he told me he was conscious of the speed at which the year is ageing already. I asked why and he said it just reminds him of things he planned to do in 2016 and did not achieve. Many of us are wearing the same shoes as my friend I suppose and are so conscious of how fast the year is ageing already we don’t even know how to go about achieving our set goals. While some of us also have made New Year Resolutions, we’re so overwhelmed as to how we’d go about achieving them.

Rewind to my conversation with my friend, I asked what ways he planned to achieve his set goals and he mentioned setting a constant reminder and a push. He asked what works for me and that got me thinking. I answered and said “Goals are best written. I believe in writing down goals so that its possible for you to reach out to them, evaluate yourself and see how far you’ve come. This would help you achieve more.”Then I remembered the Bible verse in Habakkuk 2:2 that says “…write the vision, make it plain upon tables that he may run that readeth it.” Writing is an easy process that’d help you in achieving set goals.

First, grab yourself a note pad and write about how 2016 went. Go through the resolutions and goals you set to achieve. Did you achieve half of what you wanted? Score yourself! If you did not get a pass mark for 2016, don’t be sad or see it as an avenue to perform worse this year. Go ahead and write the vision for 2017. Set clear cut goals that you hope to achieve before or by the end of the year. I’d advise you set short term and long term goals. Also, know that the manner of approach for the short term goals cannot work for long term goals. Ko le werk! LOL. For instance, one of my short term goals is to start cooking in school. I simply do not like to cook in school because it’s really uncomfortable, the space is small and most of the time the kitchen is in a horrible state but I considered how much I spend on food daily and decided to start cooking this new semester. It may not be every time but at least I’d cook (so help me God, lol.) The reason why I made this goal is because I want to save more money (I’m terrible at saving 😦 !) Towards achieving this goal, I’ve bought my kitchen utensils and foodstuff lol. One of my long term goals on the other hand is to perfect my driving skills before the year ends. This definitely requires more work than the short term goal in the sense that, I need a friend who’s willing and available to teach me how to drive. I also need motivation…again. (there used to be motivation until I scratched my mum’s car sometime ago LOL, that was when I lost the ‘ginger‘)

My people, it is super important to write your goals. Don’t just write them and forget about them, go through them and see what else needs to be done. Need I remind you that God is a master planner so it’s really important to involve him in your planning and when you feel like giving up, call to him for strength. His grace is more than enough. The year is still very young so have great expectations. 2016 showed me that there’s more to life in so many things from making new friends, to going to new places and to challenging myself to do much more for myself and others.

So this year,

Get up early. Stay focused. Network. Watch less TV. Read more books. Avoid time wasters. Invest in your health. Take CALCULATED risks (not MMM). Write down your goals. Work smarter, not harder. Do something you believe in. Foster meaningful relationships. 2017 promises to be even better with more blessings, joy, peace and moments that’d be cherished for everyone reading this. Are there other ways in achieving goals that have worked for you? I would love you to share them in the comment section. (PS: Your comments are like my oxygen, they keep me going. So please keep ’em coming 😉 ) Thank you. Brace up and shine bright like a dayamond this year!

Have a blessed 2017!!

Lots of love and warm hugs,

Aniee.

Your blog has a new look. Beautiful.
    Nice post Anie.
I totally agree on writing down your visions another thing I’d add is praying for grace to help you achieve those goals. As much as a lot of people claim to hate new year resolutions cos they never achieve them, it’s still a good thing, a good thing to be intentional about your whole life. Unlike other years, i didn’t just waltz into this year without knowing what I wanted. So help me God to achieve them all.
    Love, Sommss 💜

Nice post. I guess everyone’s got a first hand experience on what it’s like to perform below goal expectations.

A very timely post in my own opinion. Have a great year, dear.

This is one of the most inspiring articles I’ve read this year, and to think that it’s almost mid-year! Well it’s never too late to change the course of the year. Thanks Anie, you don’t know how helpful this is!
